The Financial Markets Authority – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko (FMA) helps keep New Zealand’s financial markets fair, efficient, and transparent, and encourages people to feel confident about their money. Each June, the FMA reminds New Zealanders to check their KiwiSaver when annual statements arrive.

KiwiSaver statements can feel overwhelming, especially with rising living costs. Previous campaigns focused on projections, fund choices, and contributions, but many people just needed a simple way to feel in control. The challenge: create a campaign that encourages engagement without pressure or complexity.

We made KiwiSaver approachable, simple, and relatable. Messaging was clear, friendly, and jargon-free, just enough to prompt action without overwhelming anyone.
The visuals broke from typical financial imagery: playful, bold illustrations with a simplified style that stood out on social feeds. The “nest egg” became the central symbol, light-hearted, optimistic, and instantly understandable. The result? A campaign that made KiwiSaver feel easy, engaging, and manageable for all New Zealanders.
